Candle Care & Safety Tips

Safety Instructions

  • Burn within sight
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Always place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep away from flammable objects, children, and pets.
  • DO NOT place gold-trimmed jars in the microwave!

Candle Care Tips

  • Trim the wick to 1/4" before each burn to prevent excess soot. Trimming not required for tealight candles.
  • Allow the wax to melt evenly to the rim of the jar to avoid tunneling.
  • Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
  • Blow out your candle and allow to cool before moving the jar. If moving is required, hold at the lowest part of the jar where it is the coolest while the flame is burning.

Instructions For Reusing Your Jar

1. Preparation

 - Wear Gloves: To protect the jar’s delicate painted finish, always wear gloves during the cleaning process.

 - Gather Supplies: Have a soft napkin or cloth and some isopropyl alcohol ready.

2. Removing Wax and the Wick

 - Scoop Out Wax: Gently use a napkin or a soft tool to scoop out as much wax and the wick as possible from the jar.

 - Be Gentle: Take your time to ensure you don’t scratch or damage the jar’s surface.

3. Cleaning Residual Wax

 - Initial Alcohol Wipe: Dampen a napkin with alcohol and carefully wipe the interior of the jar. This helps loosen any remaining wax and removes the adhesive from the wick sticker.

 - Repeat as Needed: Continue wiping with alcohol until the interior is free of residual wax or wick adhesive.

4. Final Cleaning and Drying

 - Final Alcohol Wipe: Give the jar one last wipe with alcohol to ensure it’s completely clean.

 - Air Dry: Allow the jar to air dry thoroughly before repurposing it.

5. Repurposing Your Jar

 - Get Creative: Once dry, the jar is ready to be repurposed. Use it for storage, as a decorative piece in your home.
